Hemlock Woolly Adelgid Walk and Talk at the Trenton Greenbelt Trails January 17, 202510:00 am - 12:00 pm « Salmon River Falls Hemlock Woolly Adelgid Walk & Talk Tug Hill Book and A Beverage Club 2025 » Reservations Required Join THTLT and the St. Lawrence-Lake Ontario Partnership for Regional Invasive Species Management for a Hemlock Woolly Adelgid Walk and Talk outing on Friday, January 17th, 10 am – Noon, at the Trenton Greenbelt Trails, 7905 Wood Road, Holland Patent, NY. Learn to recognize Eastern Hemlock trees, the Hemlock Woolly Adelgid invasive insect, examine trees, and report observations using your smartphone through a free mobile application called iMapInvasives (a community science tool). Registration is required. There is no fee to attend. The Eastern Hemlock is a key tree species found throughout Tug Hill that provides many benefits for people and nature. Detecting the presence of HWA early on can provide enough time to protect infested trees and help to stop the spread to new areas. Hemlock Woolly Adelgids insects can kill Eastern Hemlock trees. We will monitor weather right up to the morning of our walk. Light rain or snow will not hinder us, however we will contact all registrants to reschedule should the weather turn severe.
