Bird Quest 2024 May 20, 2024 - May 24, 2024 « Morning Bird Walk and Breeding Bird Survey Evening Birding at Camp Zerbe » Reservations Required The Tug Hill Bird Quest is a perfect community science activity for Families, Classrooms, Homeschool Groups, Youth Groups or anyone interested in observing birds in the Tug Hill region. It’s designed to help students and families within or near the Tug Hill region of New York State learn more about the birds that travel through and call Tug Hill home and is a great activity to incorporate into any part of a STREAM learning curriculum. A free bird feeder, birdseed and/or Tug Hill natural resource guide may be provided upon request and as available to teams requiring supplies in order to participate. Register to participate no later than March 31st. Receive daily Bird of the Day emails with photos, fun facts and identification tips April 1st through May 17th. THTLT provides a free tally sheet for you to tally the birds that visit the feeders daily May 20th-24th and record the type and number of birds observed. Start adding seed to feeders any time before May 1st in order to allow the birds to find the food source. Observe your feeder station and record your observations every day May 20th through May 24th, 2024. Complete and return your completed tally sheet no later than May 31st. A completed report will be sent out to participating teams and event sponsors the second week of June.
