Stone House Preserve Owl Prowl » Family Friendly Event, Reservations Required CANCELLED DUE TO SNOWSTORM FORECAST Take a twilight woods walk and prowl for owls with us at the Joseph A. Blake Wildlife Sanctuary (31241 Middle Road, Watertown, NY) on Friday, March 22, 2024. We’ll learn about the ways animals are adapted to a low-light lifestyle, look for all types of animal tracks and signs, and stop to look and listen for owls! The outing will begin in the parking lot with a brief learning session to discuss animal adaptations and the owls we might encounter. Then we’ll take a twilight walk in the woods, stopping to look and listen for owls, and for activities along the way that explore how owls and other animals navigate in low to no light. Bring along a flashlight or headlamp, dress for the weather, and wear sturdy waterproof boots or shoes. If there is enough snow, and you have them, you are welcome to use snowshoes.
