Traverse Trail Work Day – 1
June 15, 2018
10:00 am - 2:00 pm
Work days will take place June 15th & 16th from 10 AM – 2 PM
Have you heard about the new 20-mile, long-distance trail being built in the heart of Tug Hill? Covering state, federal, and privately protected lands this is an amazing opportunity to explore a new area.
Volunteers are leading the charge to create this exciting new trail. To date they have completed 3.5 miles of trail since last summer. This round of trail work you will help clear downed debris from the trail, and help build a bridge crossing.
Bring your favorite tools (clippers, saw, etc.), water, brown bag lunch, and plenty of sunscreen and bug dope. Please wear sturdy work or hiking boots, and comfortable work clothes.
Driving Directions to Michigan Mills Road: Plan to meet at the end of Michigan Mills Road in Constableville. To get to Michigan Mills Road, take Highmarket Road NW off NYS Route 26 out of Constableville to Highmarket, continue NW through Highmarket (pavement ends and road gets rough) for about 8 miles to a grass parking area with a DEC kiosk on the north side of the road, just before the bridge across East Branch Fish Creek. Allow at least 20 minutes to get from Constableville to the parking area.
