September Tug Hill Book and Beverage Club September 25, 20256:00 pm - 7:30 pm « Tug Hill Community Picnic 2025 Beech Leaf Disease Survey Training » On Thursday, September 25th, we’ll hold our fourth Book and Beverage Club gathering to discuss two compelling books – one about a natural history museum heist, and the other about a wolf researcher’s adventures in the Arctic. Choose to read one or both of these selections according to your preference. We will meet in hybrid form – in person with an online option. Everyone registered will receive an online meeting link by email shortly before the meeting date if they prefer to join in online from another location, along with a suggested drink recipe. Our in-person meeting location is still to be determined but will likely be closer to Lowville. The books we are reading now for September 25th are: 1) The Feather Thief, by Kirk Wallace Johnson, which tells the gripping story of a bizarre and shocking crime – a heist of valuable scientific specimens from the British Museum of Natural History in 2009, and Wallace’s relentless pursuit of justice. 2) Never Cry Wolf by Farley Mowat, an account of the summer he lived alone in the frozen tundra investigating why wolves were killing arctic caribou.
