Beech Leaf Disease Survey Training September 26, 202510:00 am - 12:00 pm « September Tug Hill Book and Beverage Club Salmon River Fish Hatchery Open House » Reservations Required Join us for a guided nature walk and survey training session with SLELO PRISM at the stunning Salmon River Falls Unique Area in Richland, NY, where we will focus on the American Beech tree and its newest nemesis: Beech Leaf Disease! You can make a difference by helping scientists track the spread of this disease. This walk is open to all ages. There is no fee for parking or to attend. Registration is required for all to receive important updates and weather-related cancellations. We’ll gather in the parking area before heading out on the Upper Falls Trail, a scenic one-mile path along the north side of the river to Dam Road. Along the way, enjoy breathtaking views of the gorge and the iconic 100-foot waterfall. You’ll first learn how to identify American Beech trees and all about how they play an important role in our Tug Hill forests.
