A great activity to incorporate into any part of a STREAM learning curriculum. Teams fill their feeders no later than May 1st in order to allow the birds to find the food source. Then each team observes the feeders daily May 15th-19th and records the type and number of birds observed. After watching the feeder for the entire week, tally the results and report your findings back to us. The Tug Hill Bird Quest program is designed to help students and families learn more about the birds that call Tug Hill home. THTLT provides free birdseed and a bird feeder upon request and as available, donated by regional businesses, to participating teams, along with a tally sheet and a free copy of the Tug Hill Natural History Guide. Teams receive Bird of the Day emails with photos, fun facts and identification tips about birds April 3rd through May 12. After observing feeders for the official event week, teams complete the provided tally sheet and return it to THTLT by May 31st. A completed report will be sent out to participating teams and event sponsors the second week of June. Find Out More and Register here!
