Blake Wildlife Sanctuary » Family Friendly Event, RSVPs Requested Join us on Saturday, July 12th, 10:00 am, at the Flower Memorial Library in Watertown (229 Washington St.) to learn about and celebrate our feathered friends! We’ll talk about what makes birds different from other animals, share some bird identification and birding tips, maybe play a little bird bingo, and go for a neighborhood bird walk to look and listen for birds nearby. Our time together will feature fun, hands-on activities from the Tug Hill Explorer Bird Backpack, available for borrowing from the library. You can bring your own binoculars or use one of our extra pairs for the program. You may want to add Cornell Lab of Ornithology’s free eBird (checklist keeper) and/or Merlin (bird ID) apps to your smart phone prior to the program. Make sure to download the northeast U.S. bird pack from the apps’ settings menus.
