Natural Wonders Woods Walk in Stone Barn State Forest
June 29, 2019
10:00 am - 2:00 pm
We hope you join us as summer comes into full swing, wildlife is active, and many of our favorite birds are raising their young in the North Country. Experienced birder, naturalist, and artist Robert McNamara will lead this cost-free guided walk in the woods of Stone Barn State Forest.
Please note that this walk will be off-trail, with varied terrain throughout, and is best for older kids and adults. We will be exploring the woods to find the best bird habitats, and stopping to observe other living creatures as they reveal themselves. We will even visit a Great Blue Heron rookery, with the hope of seeing young herons in the nests. Pack your binoculars, camera, water, tick repellent and a brown bag lunch. Comfortable hiking shoes are required for this moderate, off-trail, 2-3 mile hike.
