Blake Sanctuary Owl Prowl and Twilight Walk February 23, 20245:00 pm - 6:30 pm « Calling All Tug Hill Animal Track Explorers! Snowshoe Walk at Stone House Preserve » FREE: Family Event, Reservations Required Join us for a twilight walk and owl prowl at the Joseph A. Blake Wildlife Sanctuary (31242 Middle Road, Watertown, NY)! We’ll learn about the ways animals are adapted to a low-light lifestyle, look for all types of animal tracks and signs, and look and listen for owls! Our walk will begin in the parking lot with a brief learning session to discuss animal adaptations and the owls we might encounter. Then we’ll take a twilight woods walk with activities along the way that explore how owls and other animals navigate in low to no light, stopping often to listen and look for owls. Bring along a flashlight or headlamp, dress for the weather, and wear sturdy waterproof boots or shoes. If there is enough snow, and you have them, you are welcome to use snowshoes.
