Sue Fassler

Amboy, Oswego County

Sue currently serves as the Director of Sustainability at the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry (SUNY ESF). She also serves on the SUNY Sustainability Advisory Council and co-chairs United University Professions’ statewide Environmental Issues and Advocacy Committee.

Sue grew up in Amboy, NY (Oswego County) and enjoyed a childhood of walks in the woods and exploration. After graduating from ESF and SU, Sue moved to South Florida to serve as the City of Hallandale Beach’s Green Initiatives Coordinator.

After a few years of living in an urban environment, Sue realized her deep desire to move back to Central NY and after a short stint living in the City of Syracuse, Sue and her husband moved back home to Amboy. They now live across the street from Sue’s parent’s land, which is under conservation easement via the THTLT, and are home to stay! Sue enjoys hiking, backpacking, snowshoe racing, and soaking up all things outdoors with her young son, friends, and family.

She holds a B.S. in Environmental Studies from SUNY ESF and earned dual master’s degrees from SUNY ESF in Environmental Science and from Syracuse University’s Maxwell School in Public Administration.
