Fred is a longtime resident of Lowville in Lewis County and brings more than four decades of experience in natural resource management to the board. He retired from the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation in 2023 after 43 years of service, beginning his career as a forester in the Lowville office and concluding as the Region 6 Natural Resources Supervisor in Watertown.

Fred has a strong commitment to his community and to conservation. He currently serves on the boards of directors for, the Lewis County Soil & Water Conservation District, and the Tug Hill Commission, and is an active member of the Lowville Lions Club. In addition, he is a member of the Society of American Foresters and the International Society of Arboriculture.
