SUMMARY:April Twilight Owl Exploration at Blake Wildlife Sanctuary
DESCRIPTION:Join us on a guided twilight exploration\, looking and listening for owls at the Joseph A. Blake Wildlife Sanctuary on Friday\, February 20th at 5:00 pm. As we enter the forest with our senses alert\, we’ll make stops along the way to learn about how nocturnal animals are well-suited to their night-time activities. Registration is required. There is no charge for attendance or parking. \nDress for the weather and wear sturdy walking shoes or boots – if there is enough snow\, feel free to bring your snowshoes! Bring along a flashlight – we start in the light\, but it may be quite dark by the time we return to the parking lot. THTLT’s Linda Gibbs and Retired NYSDEC Region 6 Wildlife Biologist Irene Mazzocchi will introduce you to the wonder of owls in general\, focus on sound and sight owl identification for several species\, share fun facts\, address challenges facing some of those species\, and offer action steps to help maintain or increase owl populations. \nThis is a free webinar\, however registration is required.
