DESCRIPTION:Come and enjoy a twilight walk and owl prowl in the woods with THTLT on Friday\, March 14th\, 6:30 – 8:00 pm at the Joseph A. Blake Wildlife Sanctuary (31241 Middle Road\, Watertown\, NY)\, located it the Town of Rutland. Learn about the ways animals are adapted to a low-light lifestyle\, look for all types of animal tracks and signs\, and look and listen for owls! \nThis is the third in a series of owl prowl twilight walks for 2025 – you can sign up for multiple dates and times when you register if you wish! \nOur outing will begin in the parking lot with brief introductions. Then we’ll take a walk on the woods trails looking and to listening for owls and other animals/animal signs. \nBring along a flashlight or headlamp\, dress for the weather\, and wear sturdy waterproof boots or shoes. SUMMARY:Calling All Tug Hill Animal Track Explorers!
DESCRIPTION:Did you ever run across footprints or other signs of animal activity outside in the mud or snow and wonder what animal might have left it there? Come to the Ainsworth Memorial Library in Sandy Creek\, NY on Saturday\, March 29 from 11:00 am to Noon and learn about how to figure out who made the footprints or other signs you’ve seen! We’ll start by reading the book\, The Hike\, then use materials in the library’s new Tug Hill Explorer Animal Tracking Backpack to learn the basics of animal tracks and signs. Then we’ll head outside with the backpack to look for anything we can find near the library. Bring your phone or camera to take pictures of our finds!
