Friday, August 4th you are invited to attend the art opening and reception of “Bridging Tug Hill to the Adirondacks,” at the Old Forge Library from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. If you have been busy this summer, and weren’t able to catch the “Venerable Folks of Tug Hill” exhibit at the State Building in Watertown this will be a special treat for you. You’ll get to meet Loretta Lepkowski, the local artist behind the Venerable Folks of Tug Hill series. Artist Patti Engelbrecht is the other half of the show and you can view her folk art Americana. The exhibit will be up through August 26th, and available for viewing during regular library hours.

Why I Care
“Being raised on a small dairy farm in the Tug Hill region with a remarkably beautiful view of the Adirondacks heightened my own appreciation of this landscape and the work involved in raising children, animals, and produce. I see and feel the current changes, economic pressures families face, and the uncertainty of where it is all going. Yet beneath it lies a trend to buy locally and adopt a healthier lifestyle. That's what I love most about our agriculturally based Tug Hill region.”
-Loretta Lepkowski, Artist
