Two Tug Hill Traverse Work Days

4'DiameterYellowBirch** The work day scheduled for Friday, July 14th has been cancelled due to inclement weather. Thank you in advance for your understanding. ***

You’re invited to help build the  Tug Hill Traverse Trail on Sunday, July 16th. Currently the proposed 20-mile trail has been flagged and minimal work has been done around the entrance. Plan to meet at the end of the G&W road (north end) on Friday. For the Sunday work day plan to meet at the Michigan Mills Road trailhead. Bring lopping shears, hand saws, clippers, (please label your tools), gloves, sturdy footwear, and lunch. We will work our way along the flagged trail route, trimming, side cutting, and removing downed trees and branches for 3-4 hours.

Driving directions, Sunday, July 16th: To get to Michigan Mills Road, take Highmarket Road NW off NYS Route 26 out of Constableville to Highmarket, continue NW through Highmarket (pavement ends and road gets rough) for about 8 miles to a grass parking area with a DEC kiosk on the north side of the road, just before the bridge across East Branch Fish Creek. Allow at least 20 minutes to get from Constableville to the parking area.

Tug Hill Traverse RouteTo RSVP: Please email trip leader, Bob McNamara, at artofwild@aol.com if you will be attending, and for more detailed driving directions. In the event of bad weather he will contact you to let you know if either work day has been postponed.
