It’s a beautiful fall in Tug Hill, and trail work on the Traverse Trail will continue until the snow begins to fly. Our October Tug Hill Traverse Trail days are on Friday the 27th, and Sunday the 29th. When this trail is completed it will stretch 20-miles through the core forest region of Tug Hill.
Plan to meet at the end of the Michigan Mills Road in Constableville on both days. Trail work will begin around 10:00 AM. Please see the map above for more detailed driving directions.
For the trail work bring lopping shears, hand saws, clippers, (please label your tools), gloves, sturdy footwear, water, and lunch. We will work our way along the flagged trail route, putting up markers, trimming, side cutting, and removing downed trees and branches for 3-4 hours. We will also work on building bog bridges across a wet area, which involves carrying materials along the trail to the site.
During this time big game season will be in full swing. Please wear brightly colored clothing.
