DONATE - What is Planned Giving?

One of the greatest ways you can help protect the Tug Hill region is to support Tug Hill Tomorrow Land Trust’s work beyond your lifetime. Planned gifts make that possible. There are many ways to include a generous future gift to Tug Hill Tomorrow in your plans, each with unique benefits to you, the donor. One of the easiest ways is through a bequest. Bequest provisions in a will and/or a revocable living trust allow the donor to control the distribution of his or her estate and to preserve as much of the estate as possible through judicious use of tax-saving opportunities.

Bequests can be used to ensure that the donor’s annual charitable contributions to Tug Hill Tomorrow programs continue; to place conservation easements on land, or to make a special gift that will enhance Tug Hill Tomorrow’s ability to achieve its mission in the future. All forms of planned giving help Tug Hill Tomorrow carry on its mission of protecting the working farms, forests, recreation and wild lands of the region through educational and voluntary land protection.

Planned gifts are so named because such gifts must be carefully planned as part of the donor’s overall financial and estate planning. You may want to consult with a financial advisor or legal counsel when making a planned gift, as Tug Hill Tomorrow is not engaged in rendering legal or tax advisory services.
